Copenhagen Parking Apps Compared: Fees, Features & Which to Pick (2026)

Seven apps can legally register your on-street parking in Copenhagen, and the municipal price is identical in every one of them. The differences are the service fee on top and what the app actually does for you. Here is every provider's current published fee, with sources — including the competitors that are cheaper than we are.

First, the disclosure that most comparison pages bury: we make one of these apps. Legal Parking is the third entry on the City of Copenhagen's official list of approved parking apps. So instead of asking you to trust our opinion, this page gives you every provider's current published fee with a link to the primary source, checked on 29 July 2026. Where a competitor is cheaper than us, the table says so.

Some background so the table makes sense: Copenhagen's parking is enforced digitally, by license plate, through the city's Parking Rights Service (PRS). Every approved app registers your plate in that same system, and the municipal tariff — say, 45 kr/hour daytime in a Red zone — is identical no matter which app you use. The city itself puts it plainly: fees may differ between app providers. That fee, and the features around the payment, are the entire competition.

The official list, and what each app charges

The City of Copenhagen's list of approved parking apps (kk.dk) names exactly seven providers. Here they are in the city's own order, with each provider's published service fee for private, pay-per-use customers:

App Service fee (pay-per-use) MobilePay Fee source
APCOA FLOW 10% of parking price, min. 4.50 kr Not stated apcoa.dk
EasyPark 15%, min. 4 kr, capped at 79 kr (or "Go" subscription instead) Yes easypark.com
Legal Parking (that's us) 15%, min. 4 kr on paid parking · free parking registered at 0 kr, no fee · unused time refunded automatically Yes our pricing
OK-appen 15%, min. 4 kr Yes ok.dk
ParkMan 10% + 5 kr per session No (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay) parkman.io
ParkOne 10%, min. 4 kr Yes parkone.dk
PARKPARK Prepaid "Tank Op": 1.60 kr per started hour · pay-as-you-go: 15%, min. 4 kr · "ParkFri" 39 kr/month: no fee Yes parkpark.dk

Worth knowing if you've read older comparisons: APCOA FLOW's often-quoted flat fee of 3.50 kr per session is outdated — its own site now states 10% with a 4.50 kr minimum. And PARKPARK's famous low price is per started hour on a prepaid balance, not a flat "1 kr per parking".

What that means in kroner: one daytime hour in a Red zone (45 kr)

AppFeeTotal
PARKPARK (Tank Op, prepaid)1.60 kr46.60 kr
ParkOne4.50 kr49.50 kr
APCOA FLOW4.50 kr49.50 kr
Legal Parking6.75 kr51.75 kr
EasyPark6.75 kr51.75 kr
OK-appen6.75 kr51.75 kr
ParkMan9.50 kr54.50 kr

If the fee were the whole story, this article would end here. It isn't — because the expensive part of parking in Copenhagen isn't the fee. It's the fine.

So which app should you actually pick?

Honest guidance, scenario by scenario:

The case for Legal Parking (from the people who make it)

Our fee on paid sessions is 15% with a 4 kr minimum — the same rate as EasyPark and OK-appen, and higher than ParkOne, APCOA FLOW, and PARKPARK's prepaid rate. We'd rather tell you that in our own comparison table than have you find out elsewhere. Here's what that fee buys, and why we think it's the strongest value on the list for parking in Copenhagen:

And the honest limitations, so this page stays trustworthy: our coverage today is the City of Copenhagen (not Frederiksberg — see below), and if your only criterion is the cheapest possible paid session, PARKPARK or ParkOne will beat us on fee alone.

A note on Frederiksberg

Frederiksberg is its own municipality with its own official list of parking payment providers, which currently names six: APCOA FLOW, EasyPark, OK, ParkMan, PARKPARK, and ParkOne (frederiksberg.dk). Legal Parking is not on Frederiksberg's list at the moment. If you regularly park on Frederiksberg streets and want one app for both municipalities, pick from that list — several are in our table above.

The rule every app user should know: register even free parking

Since 1 April 2025, the first hour of your first registered parking is free from Saturday 17:00 to Monday 08:00, and on public holidays plus 5 June and 24 December. But the free hour only exists if the parking is registered — via an app, a machine, or by phone — even for a 20-minute stop. Enforcement is digital and plate-based; an unregistered "free" park risks a fine. Source: kk.dk (effective date per FDM).
